How to Play Overwatch?

Blog Introduction: People often ask me “How do you play Overwatch?” To which I usually laugh and say “Very carefully.” But all joking aside, playing Overwatch is not as complicated as it may seem at first. In this guide, I will break down the basics of how to play Overwatch for those of you who are interested in trying out this wildly popular game.

How to Play Overwatch?

Follow the steps below:

Download the Game with Blizzard App (PC)

The first step to playing Overwatch is to download the game onto your computer. You can do this by opening up the Blizzard App and selecting Overwatch from the list of games. Once you have downloaded the game, you will be ready to start playing!

Sign In or Create an Account

The next step is to sign in or create an account. If you already have a Blizzard account, you can simply enter your username and password. However, if you do not have a Blizzard account, you will need to create one. Creating a Blizzard account is free and easy to do. Simply click on the “Create a Free Account” button and follow the instructions.

Choose Your Platform

Once you have signed in or created an account, you will need to choose your platform. Overwatch is available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. If you are playing on PC, you will need to select your region. Once you have selected your platform, you will be ready to start playing!

Selecting a Hero

One of the first things you need to do when you start a game of Overwatch is select a hero. There are currently 28 heroes in the game, each with their own unique set of abilities. You can find a full list of heroes and their abilities on the Overwatch wiki. For the purposes of this guide, we will be using Soldier: 76 as our hero. Soldier: 76 is classified as an offense hero, which means his primary role is to deal damage to the enemy team.

Spawning and Respawning

Once you have selected your hero, it’s time to spawn into the game. When the game begins, each team will spawn at their respective bases. If your team is attacking, you will spawn at your team’s starting point. If your team is defending, you will spawn at your team’s defensive point. Once you have spawned, make your way towards the objective. If you die during the course of the match, don’t worry! You will respawn back at your base after a few seconds.

Attacking and Defending Objectives

The objective in most Overwatch game modes is to capture or defend a control point. In order to capture a control point, your team must have more players on the point than the enemy team does. Your team can also win by eliminating all members of the enemy team. If neither team has captured the control point or eliminated all members of the other within the time limit, then the match will end in a draw.

Conclusion

That’s all there is to it! Now that you know how to play Overwatch, go forth and dominate! Or at least try not to die too much.
